Technique teaches farmers how to store sweetpotato roots to generate seed for next growing season
Oct 14, 2021
Smallholder sweetpotato farmers struggle to save planting material for the next season in very dry areas. Researchers at the International Potato Center (CIP) have developed the Triple S technique to aid these farmers in achieving bountiful vines (“seed”) which is available to plant as soon as the rains begin. This approach leads to increased yields, providing families nutritious food well ahead of other crops.
