One of the great challenges of extension programs in developing nations, and even within the state of Illinois, is how to get practical, scientifically validated information into the hands of people who speak different languages in an easy-to-follow cost-effective manner. Such information may include helping African farmers learn a simple technique that can help them control an insect pest in their crops, or an Illinois farmer calibrate equipment that can help reduce postharvest losses.
